I Have Time™ Yoga

by Sandrine Kom

What is contemporary life doing to our bodies?

We spend hours sitting.

We look down at screens. Our shoulders move forward. Our backs round. We remain in the same position much longer than we realize.

And very often, we pay attention to the body only when something begins to feel uncomfortable.

I Have Time™ Yoga is an invitation to notice earlier.

It is a meditative and exploratory yoga practice that creates time to observe the body, move it, feel it and become more aware of what everyday life is asking it to do.

A different way of practising yoga

Yoga has been part of my life for more than 25 years, both as a personal practice and through teaching.

Over time, my approach has become increasingly interested in something very simple: can we actually feel what is happening in our bodies, rather than immediately trying to correct or improve it?

During an I Have Time™ Yoga session, there is time to observe.

Where are your shoulders?

How does your spine feel today?

What happens when you stand?

What changes when you sit?

Where are you holding effort that may not be necessary?

The practice can be gentle, meditative and sometimes more dynamic.

There is movement, but also observation.

There are postures, but the objective is not to perform them perfectly.

The body is not something to conquer. It is something to listen to.

The body we bring into the room

Our bodies don’t exist separately from the way we live.

Hours in front of a computer leave traces. So does looking repeatedly at a phone, sitting for long periods or moving from one task to another without noticing how we are sitting, standing or breathing.

This is why I Have Time™ Yoga pays particular attention to areas such as the spine, shoulders, shoulder blades, neck and abdomen.

Our devices have changed how we communicate, work and spend our free time. They have also changed the positions in which we spend much of our day.

I Have Time™ Yoga creates a period of time in which attention can return to the body, not to immediately correct it, but first to notice what is there.

How I Have Time™ Yoga can be experienced

I Have Time™ Yoga is also a regular weekly practice.

We meet online every Tuesday at 7 p.m. (Italy time) in a small international group.

Each session combines movement, observation and time to feel what is happening in the body. The final part of the session is dedicated to a particular question or theme around our relationship with time, giving us space to explore how it shows up in everyday life.

The sessions offer continuity, allowing both the physical practice and these reflections to develop from week to week.

Teams and organizations

I Have Time™ Yoga can be offered as a standalone experience for teams, with particular attention to posture, movement, attention and the physical effects of contemporary working life.

Short moments of movement and body awareness can also be incorporated into I Have Time™ workshops and team interventions, depending on the context and the needs of the group.

Retreats and selected experiences

I Have Time™ Yoga can also be part of a retreat or a longer experience where there is more time for movement, observation and exploration.

The format can be adapted to the setting and the people taking part.

I Have Time™ Yoga and The New Time Culture™

I Have Time™ Yoga belongs to the wider world of the New Time Culture™.

The New Time Culture™ questions some of the habits we have developed around speed, urgency, availability and attention.

I Have Time™ Yoga explores some of those questions through the body.

What happens when we stop moving automatically and actually notice how we feel?

What has our everyday pace changed in our posture?

Can we give the body enough time to tell us what it needs before deciding for it?

These are questions to explore through practice rather than answer intellectually.

About Sandrine

I have practised and taught yoga for many years, and my approach has evolved alongside my own questions about speed, attention and the way contemporary life affects us.

Today, yoga is one expression of that exploration.

My main work is centred on the New Time Culture™ and the I Have Time™ Method, while I Have Time™ Yoga allows me to explore some of these questions from another perspective: through the body itself.
