My Journey Through the Fabulous World of Digital Detox Land

By Sandrine Kom — Slow Life Strategist and Founder of the Slow Life Leadership Method™

The day I turned off my phone and everything changed.

July 2023. I was on holiday in the Pyrénées, surrounded by mountains, nature, and good friends.
Then I made one small decision: I checked my emails.

A message from an important client. A 48-hour deadline. A proposal to write. And just like that: silence turned into stress. Presence disappeared into productivity. My vacation was over. My energy gone. My clarity, hijacked.

That’s when I said: never again.

Since that moment, I’ve practiced a weekly ritual:
A complete digital detox from Saturday evening to Monday morning.
No phone. No social media. No notifications. No inbox. No Tv. No radio. No apps. No noise.

At first, it felt strange.
Now, it feels like clarity, confidence, and power.

This book tells the story of that ritual and everything it revealed.

It’s not a manual. It’s not a manifesto.
It’s a story. Told simply, with honesty, curiosity… and a touch of humour.

In the first part, I share the journey:
The awkward beginnings. The beautiful surprises.
The joy of doing nothing. The discomfort of doing less.
The shift in my thoughts, my sleep, my relationships, my work.

You may recognize yourself in it, and even smile. Sometimes laugh. That’s why this book isn’t just a narrative, it’s a companion. You’ll come away with insights you can apply right away, not to slow down, but to help you focus on what truly matters, protect your time, and move through life and work with more clarity and intention.

Later in the book,
I shift from story to strategy, inviting you to explore how to make space not just on Sundays, but in the rythm of your whole life. I speak from experience, and from the perspective of a Slow Life Strategist, and a global voice for a new time culture.

You’ll discover the Slow Life Leadership Method™, and the movement behind it:

“I Have Time.”

A call to rethink the pace of work, leadership, and life.
A practical path for decision-makers, founders, mentors, creatives, and professionals who want to lead with presence, not pressure. This method has been implemented by high-level professionals, across Europe and the United States, especially during pivotal transitions, when clarity, focus, and sustainabe performance were essential.

This book is for you if…

  • You’re always reachable, but rarely feel present
  • You’re productive, but not peaceful
  • You’re high-functioning, but secretly tired
  • You sense there must be another way — but don’t know how to begin

This is not about quitting technology.
It’s about using it consciously.
It’s not about slowing down for the sake of it.

It’s about doing less of what drains you,  and more of what truly matters to you.

A Personal Note

“ This ritual began as a quiet boundary: One day a week, no screens, no notifications, no pressure to reply. But overtime, it gave me something more powerful than expected: Time that’s truly mine. Time that restores. Time that works for me, not against me. It didn’t just change my Sundays. It changed how I relate to my work, my decisions, my relationships, and to myself. This book doesn’t tell you to disconnect. It invites you to reconnect: to your rythm. To what brings clarity. To a different way of showing up in the world, without losing your edge. You find honesty, practical insights, and moments that might feel surprisingly familiar. This isn’t a book about digital detox. It’s about what happens when you stop, and really pay attention. Sometimes the most radical decision is to reclaim your own rythm, and protect what truly matters.”
